Belt Filter Press PHOENIX
The PHOENIX WX filter-press model is available in several configurations, each designed for different applications. The WX filter-press delivers continuous operation with maximum dewatering efficiency thanks to features such as an open design for easy maintenance, multiple dewatering points, various configurations of pressing rollers, a fully welded frame, large bearings, and a unique anticorrosion treatment.
The WX model is offered in a range of configurations—from economical to high-performance—with belt widths of up to 3 m. Options include a dual gravitational dewatering zone, an independent gravitational dewatering zone that protects the panels, and many other features. For low flow rates up to 65 gallons per minute (4.1 l/s), the LC model is available with belt widths of 800 mm and 1200 mm.
Parameters and Advantages
- Pre-treatment (flocculation): Most materials subject to dewatering require the addition of polymers to the suspension before dewatering. As a result, the solid particles coagulate and release free moisture. The built-in mixer ensures an even distribution of the polymers in the feed.
- Feed distribution: The sludge is directed into a distribution box, after which the material is spread out to optimize the use of the filtration zone.
- Gravitational dewatering: Free moisture is separated from the solids by drainage through the moving belt of the filter-press.
- Mechanical pressing: Material emerging from the gravitational dewatering zone is directed into an adjustable mechanical pressing zone. Pressure is applied at the junction of the upper and lower belts to form a cake layer.
- Compression/Thinning: The belt follows an S-shaped trajectory through a series of compression rollers. The surface pressure generated by the belt tension squeezes additional moisture out of the solids. Simultaneous thinning of the material layer opens extra channels for moisture drainage. The belts then diverge, releasing the dry cake layer.
- Solid removal: The cake is detached from the belt using scrapers and removed.
